What POC measures
POC comes from the session's volume profile. It marks the price level with the highest traded volume so far in that session.
Because it is based on actual trading, POC is an observed landmark. It still needs interpretation. High volume means business happened there, not that the market must respect it later.
Busy price versus fair price
A busy price is where the most volume traded. It may be close to accepted value, but it is not automatically the fair price for the rest of the day.
As new information arrives, futures can build volume elsewhere. When that happens, the session's centre of gravity can migrate.
How POC shifts
Early in the day, POC can move easily because total volume is still building. Later, it may become harder to shift unless a new area attracts enough trading.
This is why time matters. A POC at 9:45 and a POC near close do not carry the same weight.
POC and rotation
When Nifty futures keep returning to POC, the session may be rotating around accepted value. When price moves away and builds volume elsewhere, the market may be exploring a new value area.
Neither case is a direct instruction. It is a way to name the structure of the day.
POC with OI and gamma
POC becomes more useful when paired with OI and gamma. If a gamma concentration, OI cluster, and POC sit near each other, the region may deserve extra context.
If they sit far apart, ask why. The options book may be focused on one region while futures business has accepted another.
